Sunshine warmed my rubber skin as I caught the ferry from Helsinki, Finland’s Market Square to Suomenlinna Sea Fortress. Which was just one of the many places we explored in Helsinki.

Roosting in the Hermitage
The Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg was the Winter Palace of Catherine the Great. It now is a world class museum. My favourite piece was the gold peacock clock.
An Imperial Chicken
I just spent a wonderful day at some of the summer residences of the Russian Tsars. So much gold. I fit in perfectly.

Clucking Around Aarhus, Denmark
Today I visited Aarhus, Denmark. The Vikings first created a settlement in this location around 770AD. Aarhus is Denmark’s second largest city with a population of 325,000 and its own university.
There are many wonderful sculptures, fountains and pieces of art in Aarhus. Denmark’s largest cathedral is also here and a wonderful outdoor museum called Den Gamle By (old Town Museum).

Somethings Fowl in Denmark
Today I visited the small northern town of Skagen in Northern Denmark.
There is an old church in this fishing village that has been completely buried in sand except for its tower.

Somethings Fowl Amongst the Tulips
There is no better place to tip toe through the tulips then at the tulip festival at Keukenhof Gardens in the Netherlands.
An interesting side note, tulips originated in the areas between Turkey and China.

Gargoyles Love Chicken
One of my favourite things about a gothic cathedral are the gargoyles. There were plenty of gargoyles at the Dom Cathedral in Utrecht.
Bosch and a Chicken
Chicken in a Windmill
Here I am in the Netherlands: land of the windmills. In old times, windmills were used to help move water from one place to another.
